Our process, step by step
No jargon, no surprises. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you contact us to long after your report is delivered.
No jargon, no surprises. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you contact us to long after your report is delivered.
You tell us about the vessel — make, model, LOA, year, location — and what you need (pre-purchase, insurance, condition, damage). The more detail, the more accurate the quote, but we can work from a listing URL and a quick call.
Within hours you receive a written quote that covers the survey fee and travel — no add-ons later. You'll also get a prep checklist so the vessel is ready when we arrive.
Once you approve, we book the dates and coordinate the haul-out and sea trial with the yard and captain. We confirm access, lift capacity, and tide windows so nothing is left to chance.
Typically one to two days. We start out of the water — hull sounding, moisture mapping, running gear, through-hulls — then move to systems, machinery, and electronics in the slip, and finish with a structured sea trial under power and/or sail.
Before we leave the vessel, you get an on-the-spot verbal summary of the major findings — good and bad — so there are no surprises in the written report. You can ask questions while everything is fresh.
Within 48 hours you receive a bound, photograph-documented report: findings prioritized by severity, estimated repair costs, a fair market valuation, and our unique eco-flag section. It's written to be read by owners, brokers, yards, and underwriters alike.
Use the report to renegotiate the price, walk away, or proceed with confidence. We're available to clarify findings for your broker, insurer, or yard — and to recommend trusted repair specialists where needed.
We stay on call. Whether it's a question six months later, an insurer follow-up, or planning the next survey, the surveyor who did the work is the one you reach.
Throughout every step, you can count on a few things that define how we work.
We reply the same day and tell you what you need to hear, not what's easy.
You're handed off to no one. Your surveyor owns your engagement end to end.
Every report includes an eco-flag section — at no extra cost.
